We love J.P. Cormier! One of the funniest guys we know, too. Big East Coast talent.

Juno nominee J.P. Cormier is a man with many musical talents – a skilled songwriter, a gifted singer and an extraordinary musician, who has accomplished success with more than one instrument. During his long career, he has won many competitions, including the Canadian Open Guitar Championship, the Southern U.S. Fiddle Championship, and the Southern U.S. Banjo Championship. He has also worked with a number of big-name artists and appeared on the ever-popular Grand Ol’ Opry over two dozen times. His debut album, Out of the Blue, was released when he was only 16 years old.

With all that has been said about J.P., the legend grows out of control. His temperament and demeanor are described as everything from “sweetheart” to “volatile at best”. His shyness is often mistaken for rudeness or being standoffish. His no-nonsense way of communicating can be startling to those who are more politically correct. Intimidating is another description often used. It’s hard not be when you’re 6’4” and 300 lbs.

“I have a great deal of respect for Mr. Cormier.” – Gordon Lightfoot

“He is one of the most important guitarists of his generation.” – Chet Atkins

“I would be proud to share the stage with him anywhere anytime.” – Waylon Jennings

“Canada is richer from your immense contribution to the Canadian music industry.” – The Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson

“One of the most unique musicians I’ve ever played with.” – Marty Stuart

“Why the hell isn’t J.P. the most famous guitar player in the world?” – Ashley MacIsaac

“6’4? A musical giant. If you don’t like him – you’re deaf! Crosses every musical border with total ease and success.” – Clem Ryan, CKR Radio, Ireland
