Wendell and Wheat

Published on May 13, 2016

Oh how we love these two. It was March 2001 when we started this series with these beautiful people. It always feels comfy with them in the house, entertaining people with their songs and letting everyone kick back and relax. Wendell Ferguson and Katherine Wheatley. Fun!

I do other stuff …. like this:

Lynn Miles plays Collingwood, April 15

Published on March 24, 2016

There’s something to be said for experience, for taking the time to grow into your own skin. All sturdy things need time to root firmly into the ground to find their strength. Lynn Miles is one of Canada’s most accomplished singer/songwriters. With twelve albums to her credit, the winner of multiple Canadian Folk Music awards

Irish Mythen on Irish Mountain

Published on March 20, 2016

It’s a long time coming, but many years after watching a stellar performance at Mariposa, we get to enjoy this spectacular musician up close. It’s a compelling, heartfelt and powerful show. Funny, joyous, and thought-provoking. An Irish Mountain audience favourite.

The Northwest Passage in Story and Song

Published on March 11, 2016

It’s an evening of stories, photos, video and a full band of original songs by Georgian Bay native David Newland. The focus is the mysterious Arctic and the Northwest Passage – David has crossed it 3x and drives the Zodiac for Adventure Canada. It’s a touching, historical history of the magic of the Arctic.

Suzie Vinnick

Published on December 6, 2015

Suzie plays a fun afternoon matinee for a full house of happy people, with her smooth voice and high caliber guitar skills. Always fun to be part of a Suzie show!

JP Cormier

Published on November 14, 2015

We love the East Coast musicians with their sense of humour and kicked-up skills. Reminds us of a kitchen party. But better because we just get to sit back and take it all in, and participate in our own way. As always, JP is brilliant. Also nominated for his 2nd Juno.

Rick Fines

Published on October 24, 2015

Rick does what he does best, entertaining people with his bluesy songs and personable banter, and we’re lucky to have him back to Irish Mountain. (photo from the Sugar Shack a few years ago)

Kevin Breit and the Upper York Mandolin Quartet ~ Two sold out shows

Published on June 29, 2015

It was the “Ernesto and Delilah CD Release” with Kevin Breit, featuring Rebecca Jenkins. Mandolin orchestra pop. And what a hoot it was – TWO nights of this fabulous quartette, a packed room both midweek shows. Sometimes the energy in the room settles into the walls and the floor and changes everything, including the people

Emiliana Torrini, our first Icelandic performer

Published on May 22, 2015

That was a fantastic on-stage party, with Dave Celia meeting Emiliana and performing together for the first time. It was interesting and engaging and the chemistry on stage was a totally unexpected bonus. Thanks to our friend Bob Henderson for making it all happen so brilliantly!
